Location: Wenlong Village, Yanxi Subdistrict, Yong’an City

Introduction: The site is a square earthen fort originally built in the mid-Qing Dynasty, covering an area of 1,979.6 square meters. During the War of Resistance Against Japan, it successively housed the Central Bank of Fujian Province and the Postal Administration of Fujian Province. In November 1943, the Taiwan Provincial Branch of the Kuomintang, directly under the Central Committee of the Chinese Nationalist Party, was ordered to relocate here from Zhangzhou, where it remained until November 1945.

Protected Area: 20 meters eastward and westward extending to residential houses, and 20 meters southward and northward extending to paddy fields.

In 2009, the Former Site of the Taiwan Provincial Branch of the Kuomintang — Fuxing Fort was designated as part of the seventh batch of provincial-level cultural heritage sites by the People’s Government of Fujian Province.

Wenlong Village: Located southwest of Yong’an City, Wenlong Village is 4 kilometers from the urban area. It consists of three villager groups, with 108 households and a population of 447. The village has 367 acres of arable land, 7,007 acres of forest, and over 560 acres of tea and fruit orchards. It is one of the earliest specialized livestock farming villages in the city, with 95 farms, including five pig farms that house 1,000 breeding sows and produce 20,000 commercial pigs annually; four chicken breeding farms producing 1.2 million chicks per year; and 350 acres of fish ponds yielding 350 tons of fish annually. In 2005, the per capita net income of farmers was 5,290 yuan.
