Baita Mountain Forest Park

Baita Mountain is a renowned Taoist mountain in northern Fujian and is said to be one of the legendary "Thirty-Six Grotto-Heavens and Seventy-Two Blessed Lands." Located at the junction of Jianyang and the Honghe Grand Canyon Ecotourism Area of Wuyishan, it stands at an elevation of 1,553 meters, making it the highest peak in our city. The mountain is home to the Longji Taoist Temple, which was first built during the Tang Dynasty and boasts a grand scale. It also features scenic spots such as Chessboard Rock, Flying Rock, Heart-Testing Rock, and Immortal’s Cave. A stone stairway from the temple leads up the mountain, and after ascending about 1,000 meters, you will reach the summit of Baita Mountain — “Incense-Burning Peak,” which is the best spot to watch the moonrise. The mountain cliffs are dotted with numerous ancient cliff inscriptions. At the summit stands a stone house built during the Qing Dynasty’s Daoguang era. Currently, our city has engaged Hong Kong Taiguang Company to develop and construct the Baita Mountain Ecological Scenic Area.
