The Yunding Tea Garden is located in Xiaochi Town, Xinluo District, Longyan City, at the southern foot of Meihua Mountain, a national nature reserve, and on the southern side of Huanglian’yu, the highest peak in Longyan. It sits at the junction of two counties and three townships — Jiangshan, Xiaochi, and Bu Yun in Shanghang — and is one of the highest and longest sources of the northern branch of the Jiulong River. It is part of a national forest park. The area enjoys convenient transportation, being just 25 kilometers from downtown Longyan and 18 kilometers from the Zhanglong Expressway interchange. Originally established as the Xiaochi State-Owned Tea Farm in 1956, the tea garden was transformed in 1999 when Australia’s WELL-JOY Group invested heavily in its development. With a vision that harmoniously blends natural and cultural environments with large-scale agricultural industrialization, it became the province’s first new eco-agricultural park integrating high-mountain tea research, development, production, training, as well as tourism, sightseeing, and leisure vacationing. The park now spans 12,000 acres, including 1,000 acres of tea fields, 1,500 acres of bamboo forests, and the rest covered by mixed coniferous and broadleaf woodlands. The area features emerald-green tea terraces, majestic mountains, beautiful waters, ancient towering trees, and cascading waterfalls. Elevations within the park range between 800 to 1,815 meters, with continuous ranges of rolling hills and a refreshing climate. Yunding Mountain Tea is grown without chemical fertilizers or pesticides, making it a high-mountain organic tea free from agricultural residues and pollutants. The restaurant serves wild vegetables and farmhouse-style cuisine, all natural and wholesome. Comfortable villas and standard rooms can accommodate up to 300 guests. The site offers comprehensive leisure and vacation facilities, including fully equipped entertainment amenities. There are also large-, medium-, and small-sized conference centers suitable for academic exchanges, business negotiations, and product promotions. Nature enthusiasts can explore the pristine forests with experienced and enthusiastic guides, taking in waterfalls, capturing scenic views, and venturing into the source of the Jiulong River. From the summit of Huanglian’yu, visitors can overlook downtown Longyan. With good luck, you might even spot white foxes, monkey troops, and herds of the four-not-alike (a local name for the serow, a National Class II protected animal).

The town covers a total land area of 102.2 square kilometers, comprising 13 administrative villages, 84 villager groups, and a total population of 13,000.
