Deng Zihui’s Former Residence (Longde Hall) is a cultural tourism attraction.

Deng Zuo’s Deng Zihui Former Residence, Longde Hall, is located in the eastern part of Ningzhai Building in Dengzuo Village, Dongxiao, Xinluo District, Longyan City, Fujian Province. It is an independent courtyard. Built around the Tongzhi era of the Qing Dynasty, it covers an area of 1,100 square meters. Facing south with a north orientation, it is a three-courtyard earthen-wooden structured enclosed compound with side rooms. During the winter of 1927, under Deng Zihui’s guidance, the Poor and Hired Peasants Association of Dengzuo Village was established here, and they carried out the 25% Rent Reduction struggle against local landlords and gentry. Between 1929 and 1932, due to Deng Zihui’s revolutionary activities, this historical site was burned down three times by the Nationalist army. Only the main gate, walls, and foundation bases remain. It was renovated in 1987. This former residence is where Deng Zihui lived, studied, grew up, and engaged in revolutionary activities in his early years, holding significant historical importance. On May 25, 2016, it was announced as a fourth-batch county-level cultural relics protection unit.

Deng Zihui, originally named Shaoji, was born on August 17, 1896, in Dengzuo Village, Dongxiao Town. His father, Deng Hongbi, was a practicing physician and later served as the principal of Tonggang Primary School. As a child, Deng Zihui attended Tonggang Primary School and at the age of seventeen entered Longyan Middle School (later renamed Provincial No. 9 Middle School). In the fourth year of the Republic of China (1915), he organized and gave speeches protesting Yuan Shikai’s acceptance of Japan’s humiliating “Twenty-One Demands.” In the same year, he secretly joined the Chinese Revolutionary Party while in middle school.
