Zhuguan Ancient Village

Zhuguan Ancient Village is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

The Zhuguan Ancient Village scenic area is located at the southern foot of the Meihua Mountain, a national A-level nature reserve, nestled in a hilly basin in Wan’an Town, Xinluo. It is a national 3A-level tourist attraction, a Traditional Chinese Village, and a Famous Historical and Cultural Village of China.

The village is surrounded by mountains and traversed by a small river, earning it the titles “a pearl in the Meihua Mountains” and “Shangri-La of Western Fujian.”

The village boasts numerous historic sites such as Baoding Covered Bridge, Guanyin Nunnery, Jiling Palace, Guan Di Temple, the Chastity Archway, the Wen Family Ancestral Hall, and the former residence of Wen Zhaofeng, all witnessing the historical changes and past prosperity of Zhuguan. It is one of the best-preserved ancient village complexes in western Fujian.

In addition, intangible cultural heritage such as Minxi Han Opera, along with folk customs like traditional paper production, paper lantern crafting, carrying the bride on the back, Lantern Festival celebrations, and Ghost Festival ancestor worship, enrich the cultural tapestry of this historic village, giving Zhuguan a captivating charm.
