Peixia Village

Peixia Village is located in the western part of Xinluo District, Longyan City, about 20 kilometers from the city center. Known as China’s “Hometown of Bamboo Mats,” it is recognized as a China Characteristic Village and a Provincial Three-Star Rural Tourism Operation Unit.

The whole village is characterized by bamboo elements, combined with modern agricultural bases, and has developed attractions such as farmhouse stays and happy farms. Visitors to Peixia Village can taste local specialty bamboo tube rice, purchase local wild vegetables, dried bamboo shoots, and other regional products, or visit the bamboo mat production base to experience the fun of weaving bamboo mats. They can also enjoy fruit picking in the fields.

Jiuxi Lu Leisure Tourism Area is located south of Peixia Village, covering a planned area of 9.53 square kilometers, including Peixia Village and the nearby Xiaoxi Lushan Mountain. The tourism area boasts mountain, forest, stream, village, and red revolutionary site resources. Its planning includes functions such as landscape sightseeing, rural leisure, small-scale conferences, and new-style retreat vacations.

In addition, Peixia Village has established a tourism commodity “Taobao Village,” which is the first Taobao Village in Fujian Province. The physical stores in the Taobao Village cover a wide range of sales categories, including bamboo products, tea, cordyceps flowers, auto accessories, creative DIY cups, bedding, cosmetics, clothing, and bamboo and wood handicrafts. In August 2013, a research report on the status of China’s “Taobao Villages” released by the Alibaba Research Center pointed out that Peixia Village had become one of the 14 large-scale “Taobao Villages” in China at the time. In the following years, Peixia Village was awarded the honorary title of “China Taobao Village” by the Alibaba Research Center and the Informationization Research Center of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences for two consecutive years at the China Taobao Village Summit Forum.
