Lotus Mountain Temple

Lotus Mountain Temple is a cultural tourism attraction.

Lotus Mountain Temple is located in Lotus Mountain Park and was established during the Song Dynasty. The area features peculiar rocks resembling lotus petals, hence the name “Lotus Mountain Monastery.” The temple enshrines the Goddess of Mercy (Guanyin), attracting a multitude of worshippers and known for frequent miraculous occurrences. It now includes structures such as the Mahavira Hall, Heavenly King Hall, Great Compassion Pavilion, Scripture Depository, Dharma Hall, Kṣitigarbha Hall, monastic quarters, and a liberation pond.

The most distinctive feature is a Water-Dripping Guanyin statue, topped with a natural stone canopy from which spring water drips, making it appear as though clear water flows from the sacred vase held by the Bodhisattva, nourishing all beings and leaving devotees in awe.

Lotus Mountain is rich in vegetation, lush and green, with a pleasant climate and uniquely beautiful scenery. It hosts nearly 100 plant species including fir, pine, cypress, oak, camphor, maple, beech, nanmu, sassafras, banyan, and the rare plant Alsophila spinulosa. The park is situated on the southern side of the urban area with convenient transportation. Its north gate has two walking trails for hiking, measuring 817 meters and 860 meters respectively, which lead directly to the Bell Tower. It has become one of the popular spots for morning exercises and hiking competitions.
