The Meihua Lake Water Conservancy Scenic Area is a national water conservancy scenic area.

The Meihua Lake Water Conservancy Scenic Area is located in Xinluo District, Longyan City, Fujian Province, covering a total area of 92.15 square kilometers. It is a typical reservoir-type water conservancy scenic area. Surrounded by mountains, the area remains lush all year round, featuring rippling blue waters, crisscrossing streams, majestic waterfalls, rugged rocks, and ancient relics scattered throughout. Boating on the lake, with a gentle breeze blowing, ripples dancing, and the shimmering water and mountain scenery creating an incredibly beautiful view.

The Meihua Lake Water Conservancy Scenic Area is situated on the Wan'an Stream, a tributary of the Jiulong River, 2 km upstream from Baisha Town in Xinluo District at the southern foot of the Meihua Mountain National Nature Reserve. Stretching 28 km in length, it has a planned area of 78.8 square kilometers, including a water surface area of 10.3 km². It is a mountainous reservoir scenic area characterized by its high-quality landscape, rich mid-subtropical forest vegetation, and profound cultural heritage. Ideal for sightseeing, summer retreats, health and wellness, eco-tourism, and science education, the area is now under development by Canada’s Lanhu International Company. Combining local features, the plan includes developing “one town, two zones, three villages, and four islands.” The main scenic zone, Bailong Lake, is designed as a tranquil area focusing on “landscape sightseeing + folk experience,” while Meihua Lake serves as an active zone centered around “fashionable sports + water leisure and recreation.”
