Former Site of the Western Fujian Workers' and Peasants' Bank

The Former Site of the Western Fujian Workers' and Peasants' Bank is a National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit and a classic red tourism attraction.

The Former Site of the Western Fujian Workers' and Peasants' Bank is located on Xiajing Lane, Dongcheng Subdistrict, Xinluo District, Longyan City. Built in 1927, it faces south and is a single four-story brick-and-wood structure with an arcade-style façade, covering a floor area of 132 square meters.

The site was originally a fabric shop run by Longyan businessman Li Lianzhai. In September 1930, the Western Fujian Soviet Government established the Western Fujian Workers' and Peasants' Bank here, which officially opened on November 7 of the same year. It issued share receipts and banknotes that circulated within the Western Fujian Revolutionary Base as valid securities equivalent to silver dollars.

The Western Fujian Workers' and Peasants' Bank was one of the earlier red financial institutions established in the Central Revolutionary Base. It played a significant role in breaking the economic blockade imposed by the Kuomintang, regulating finance, narrowing the price scissors gap, and stabilizing the economy of the Soviet Area, making it of high historical value. In 2013, it was designated as part of the seventh batch of National Key Cultural Relics Protection Units.
