Chishui Tianhou Palace

Chishui Tianhou Palace is a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Fujian Province.

Chishui Tianhou Palace is located in Group 1, Chishui Village, Longmen Town, Xinluo District, Longyan City, Fujian Province. It was built in the 35th year of the Qianlong reign (1770). The structure faces south and covers an area of 886 square meters. It features a two-courtyard, two-wing-room wooden post-and-lintel construction. The central axis runs from south to north, successively comprising a pond, ash yard, main gate, front hall, courtyard, and rear hall. The rear hall is three bays wide and six meters deep, with the central four-tiered section enshrining an image of Mazu. A staircase at the back screen leads to the fourth tier. The left and right sides of the rear hall are side rooms, and corridors connect the front and rear halls on both sides. Two ironwood trees stand on either side of the central courtyard. Bells and drums are placed on the left and right of the rear hall. In front of the main gate are drum-shaped stone blocks, and the right wall contains inscribed steles documenting renovations carried out in the 30th and 52nd years of the Qianlong reign. The palace is exquisitely and ornately built, representing the largest Tianhou Palace in scale within Xinluo District and showcasing the distinctive architectural artistry of local temples. It was designated as a seventh-batch provincial-level cultural heritage site in 2009.
