Former Site of the Baitu Uprising

The Former Site of the Baitu Uprising is a cultural relics protection unit of Xinluo District and a classic red tourism attraction.

Former Site of the Baitu Uprising: Dongxiao Xiniupai is located at Xiniupai, Caiyuan Village, Dongxiao Town, Xinluo District, Longyan City, Fujian Province. The site faces south and consists of a square covering an area of 3,600 square meters. To the north is the rostrum, in the center is the monument and square, and at the southern entrance stands a sign marking it as a provincial-level cultural relics protection unit. On August 6, 1928, peasant uprising forces from Longyan, Yongding, and Shanghang counties gathered here to launch the Baitu Uprising and staged the first attack on Longyan City. On March 1, 1938, the Second Detachment of the New Fourth Army assembled here before departing for southern Anhui to fight in the War of Resistance against Japan. In July 1993, the Dongxiao Town People's Government erected the Dongxiao Revolutionary Martyrs Monument at this site. This location marks the courageous joint uprising of three western Fujian counties and their first assault on Longyan City in resistance to the rule of Chen Guohui, holding significant revolutionary historical importance. It is a county-level cultural relics protection unit.
