The Former Site of the Fujian-Guizhou CCP-KMT Peace Talks and Former Residence of Comrade Mao Zemin is a cultural heritage site protected by Xinluo District and a classic destination on the red tourism route.

The Former Site of the Fujian-Guizhou CCP-KMT Peace Talks and Former Residence of Comrade Mao Zemin is located on Xijing Lane, Zhongxin Garden, downtown Longyan. Constructed in the 34th year of the Guangxu reign (1908), it was originally the site of the Longyan County Chamber of Commerce. The two-story brick-and-wood building covers a land area of 425 square meters, with a total built-up area of 900 square meters. In April 1932, while the Red Army’s Eastern Route Army was attacking Zhangzhou, Mao Zemin stayed here and raised funds. After the peaceful resolution of the Xi'an Incident, Chiang Kai-shek was compelled to accept proposals including ceasing the civil war and uniting with the CCP to resist Japan. In February 1937, the CPC Central Committee issued the “Message from the Central Committee to the Third Plenary Session of the Kuomintang,” proposing five demands and four guarantees. In July, the full-scale War of Resistance Against Japan broke out. Early that month, following directives from the Central Committee, Deng Zihui and Xie Yucai, representatives of the Minxi-Southwestern Military-Political Committee, conducted negotiations with the KMT authorities in Minxi at the Longyan County Chamber of Commerce regarding specific arrangements for CCP-KMT cooperation in resisting Japan. After striving for favorable terms and making necessary compromises, an agreement was officially signed on July 29 at Liujiaoting Pavilion, marking the establishment of a new phase of CCP-KMT cooperation in Minxi to resist Japan. It was designated as a county-level cultural relics protection unit in 1975.
