Tingshou Tower

Tingshou Tower is a cultural relic protection unit of Xinluo District.

Tingshou Tower, also known as Shuimen Tower, is located on the north bank of Longjin River along Longchuan East Road, Dongcheng Subdistrict, Xinluo District, Longyan City, Fujian Province. Built in the ninth year of the Wanli era during the Ming Dynasty (1581) and renovated in the fortieth year of the Qianlong era during the Qing Dynasty (1775), it is a seven-story, hexagonal pavilion-style brick pagoda with a total height of 12 meters and an area of 42.8 m². The boat-shaped base is built from bonded flagstones, standing 3 meters high, 14 meters long, and 7 meters wide. Each level features three layers of corbelled eaves made of bricks, topped with a spire. The outer walls of the first to third levels bear inscribed stone tablets, with two arched gates staggered on each floor—the west-facing gate on the first level and the central gate on the third level inscribed with “Tingshou Central.” The top level was once struck by lightning and restored in 1984. The tower is exquisitely constructed, reflecting the distinctive local pagoda architectural style of Longyan. It was designated as a county-level cultural relic protection unit in 1982.
