Xiudong Yanggao Tower is a cultural heritage site protected by Xinluo District.

Xiudong Yanggao Tower, also known as the Flower Tower, is located in Dongxin Group, Xiudong Village, Dachi Town, Xinluo District, Longyan City, Fujian Province. It is a residence of the Wu family, built by the 12th-generation descendant of Xingfu Gong during the Qing Dynasty. Facing south and situated to the north, the structure covers an area of 2,730 square meters. It is a three-courtyard, two-and-a-half-story earthen-and-timber enclosed compound building. The central axis runs from north to south and successively includes the front courtyard, enclosing wall, outer courtyard, steps, main gate, front porch, patio, central gate, patio, central hall, patio, ancestral hall, rear ditch, and rear ridge. The central hall divides the building into six smaller courtyards. The central hall is four bays wide and 7.2 meters deep, with a finely crafted screen in the middle decorated with gold trimmings of “lingzhi mushrooms,” “orchids,” and “preservation vases.” The brackets are carved and painted. The ancestral hall is two bays wide, with carved and painted brackets, 5.5 meters deep, and 6.12 meters in total height. It features a single-eave hip-and-gable roof supported by raised beams, covered with blue tiles. Small side doors on the left and right of the ancestral hall lead to the various courtyards. A well located in the front courtyard on the right provides water for the entire building. The entire structure has 111 rooms, 9 halls, 10 staircases, and 1 well. Yanggao Tower is grand in scale and richly decorated, serving as valuable physical material for the study of ancient residential architecture in the region. It was designated as a fourth batch county-level cultural heritage site on May 25, 2016.
