Renhe Tiancheng Village

Renhe Tiancheng Village is a cultural heritage site protected by Xinluo District.

Renhe Tiancheng Village is located in Beishan Natural Village, Renhe Village, Shizhong Town, Xinluo District, Longyan City, Fujian Province. It is a Qing Dynasty–era structure. The building faces east and covers an area of 580 square meters. The main building features a post-and-lintel wooden frame. Upon entering through the front door, there is a screen wall. The floor is now paved with cement, while the floorboards, stairs, and railings are all made of wood. The windows are small and gradually increase in size from bottom to top. A water tank is installed above the doorway for fire prevention. The building has four floors. To the south of the main entrance stands an ancestral hall, which is a timber-framed structure with a gable and hip roof. It also uses a post-and-lintel wooden frame, measures four bays in width and two bays in depth, and serves as a venue for both happy and solemn occasions. Tiancheng Village is built along a river, so no wells are needed inside. It is the only oval-shaped earthen building in Shizhong Town and provides valuable physical material for the study of the architectural artistry of Fujian’s tulou. In 2017, it was designated as a fifth batch county-level cultural heritage protection unit.
