Former Residence of Cao Juru

The former residence of Cao Juru is a cultural heritage site protected by Xinluo District.

The former residence of Cao Juru is located at No. 13, Dianfang Road, Group 5, Nanyang Village, Hongfang Town, Xinluo District. It was built by Cao Juru’s grandfather in the late Qing Dynasty, dating back approximately 200 years, and covers an area of 325 square meters. The structure faces southeast and is backed by the northwest. It is a two-courtyard, two-wing-room house with two side chambers, featuring a post-and-lintel timber-framed and earthen construction. The central axis runs from southeast to northwest and includes, in sequence, the main gate, front courtyard, front hall, patio, and rear hall. The rear hall is two bays wide and five meters deep. Cao Juru’s living quarters were located in the right side chamber (the 3rd and 4th rooms). Cao Juru served as head of the Accounting Department of the Western Fujian Workers’ and Peasants’ Bank and as director of the State Bank of the Central Soviet Area, among other positions. This residence is where Cao Juru lived, studied, and grew up in his early years. In 2017, it was designated as a fifth batch county-level cultural heritage protection site.

Nanyang Village: Nanyang Village is located in the central part of Hongfang Town, Xinluo District, serving as the town center. It borders Dongyang Village to the east, Daoliushui Village to the south, Beiyang and Chikeng Villages to the west, and Zi’an Village to the north. The village consists of 19 villager groups, with a total of 701 households and a population of 2,280. It has 6 members in the village’s two committees and 90 Party members. The jurisdiction covers a total area of 6.5 square kilometers, including 1,227 mu of arable land, 45 mu of orchards, and 3,906 mu of forested land. In recent years, the village has been awarded honors such as “Fujian Province Health Village,” “Longyan City Health Village,” and “Xinluo District Advanced Unit for Rural Toilet Renovation.” … Nanyang Village Detailed Information++
