Jieshou Mosque

Jieshou Mosque is a cultural heritage site protected at the level of Fuyang City.

The mosque, located at the eastern end of Jiaomen Street, Xiangyang Neighborhood Committee, Jieshou City, is a municipal-level cultural heritage site. It was originally built during the Ming Dynasty and was reconstructed in the 23rd year of the Daoguang reign of the Qing Dynasty (1843) by the wealthy merchant Li Hezhai.

The entire mosque covers an area of nearly 7 mu, features a brick-and-tile structure, and consists of five courtyards, making it grand and magnificent. Above the main gate hangs a large black plaque with gold characters reading “Ancient Mosque of Islam.” Upon entering, there is a long corridor shaded by green trees on both sides. Inside the second gate, there is a large screen depicting a “Guest-Greeting Pine.” Passing through the second gate leads into the central courtyard, which is the main architectural section of the mosque. Facing you are five rooms on the north side, ten rooms in the main prayer hall on the west, and five rooms in the opposite hall, all proportionally matched. The main prayer hall is a grand classical-style building, with three gold plaques hanging above it inscribed with “Hall of the Formless Treasure,” “Profound and Beyond Inscription,” and “Origin of the Way, Boundless.” It features five ridges and six beasts, with painted and varnished pillars in the inner porch, vibrant and eye-catching colors, spacious and bright, capable of accommodating 200 worshippers. The two side rooms of the north section serve as living quarters for students. The rooms on both sides of the opposite hall function as “Qur’an Study Rooms” and “Meeting Rooms,” among others. A small courtyard behind the main prayer hall houses facilities such as a ablution room.
