Universal Studios Japan’s ‘Wizarding World of Harry Potter’ Welcomes Its Most Special Event Yet — Wizarding World of Winter Debuts for the First Time! From November 18 (Fri), 2016 to January 9 (Mon), 2017, enjoy a magical 54-day Christmas celebration in the wizarding world for the very first time. The wizarding village of Hogsmeade will be adorned with festive Christmas decorations, transforming into a completely new sight that immerses visitors in an unprecedented holiday atmosphere and deeper into the world of the films. In addition, limited-time warm seasonal food and drinks will be offered, allowing guests to enjoy the Wizarding World of Harry Potter in winter with all five senses.

Thick snow covers the rooftops, and the stone buildings draped with icicles create a wintery wonderland. In the snow-blanketed ‘Wizarding World of Harry Potter’, winter is the most enchanting season of all. This winter, brought to life by the wizards of Hogsmeade, features exquisitely crafted Christmas wreaths and ornaments that adorn every corner of this magical realm — from the entrance archway to every spot in the village. As you step inside, a dazzling Christmas tree comes into view, reminiscent of the iconic moment when the Christmas tree appears in the Great Hall of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

For the first time, Hogsmeade will introduce a limited-time magical experience where visitors can cast spells on the Christmas tree. During the day, the snow on the rooftops sparkles under the sunlight, and casting spells on the magnificent Christmas tree brings extra magic. At night, the entire village is bathed in the warm glow of twinkling lights, and casting spells on the radiant tree becomes an even more special experience. With different magical experiences available in the daytime and at night, everyone can feel the same joy and excitement as the students of Hogwarts when their spells succeed.

Additionally, as a highlight of the winter-exclusive offerings, the immensely popular ‘Butterbeer’ will make its return alongside a Christmas-themed limited-edition mug.
