Jieshou City Museum

The Jieshou City Museum is located in the Cultural Activity Center of the city’s new district and is an important component of the Jieshou City Cultural Activity Center. It features a comprehensive exhibition system and fully equipped infrastructure. As a multifunctional comprehensive museum integrating collection, research, display, education, and exchange, it is also a core platform for conducting social education and showcasing the region’s distinctive historical civilization.

The Jieshou City Museum was officially opened and put into use on December 30, 2009. Since the establishment of the new museum, it has adhered to a people-oriented development philosophy and followed the principles of being close to reality, close to life, and close to the public. Based on local resources and with a long-term vision, the museum has fully leveraged its educational and promotional functions to build a high-quality, premium-level boutique museum. The museum covers a construction area of 2,200 square meters, with an exhibition area of 1,800 square meters. Its exhibitions are divided into three parts: basic exhibits, thematic exhibits, and temporary exhibits, comprising five exhibition zones in total. These include the "Jieshou Ancient Cultural Relics Exhibition Hall," the "Jieshou Colored Pottery Exhibition Hall," the "Jieshou City Historical and Cultural Exhibition Hall," and two temporary exhibition halls. The displays are primarily based on cultural relics collected over the years in the city and those unearthed in the region. They incorporate the latest research findings in Jieshou’s history, cultural relics, archaeology, and related disciplines, draw on the successful experiences of museums within and outside the province, and form a modern exhibition style unique to Jieshou. The exhibitions comprehensively showcase the city’s distinctive folk cultural relics. Since implementing the national policy of free admission in accordance with the arrangements and requirements of the central, provincial, and municipal governments, the museum has welcomed delegations from the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, the Economic Affairs Committee of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, the National Tourism Administration, the Taiwan Charming Cities Interview Group, the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People’s Congress, the Provincial CPPCC, the Provincial Finance Department, the Fuyang Municipal Party Committee, the Fuyang Municipal Organization Department, the Fuyang Municipal Propaganda Department, as well as sister organizations from surrounding counties and cities, and local primary and secondary school groups and individuals. The total number of visitors has exceeded 300,000. The museum plays an important role in disseminating advanced culture through social education and has received praise from leaders at all levels. It has become a new highlight for historical and traditional cultural education in the city and surrounding counties. The museum has successively won the "Second Provincial Excellent Museum and Memorial Exhibition Award" and has been designated by the Jieshou City and Fuyang City governments as a "Clean Government Education Base," "Party Member Education Base," and "Patriotic Education Base," among other honors.
