Xu Jishen Memorial Park is a national AAA-level tourist attraction and a patriotic education base.

A AAA-level scenic spot. Xu Jishen was the commander of the First Army of the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army and one of China's 36 proletarian military strategists. The Xu Jishen Memorial Park covers an area of over 50 acres and consists of the Xu Jishen Memorial Hall, a white marble statue of Xu Jishen, a restored version of Xu Jishen’s former residence, and the planned Liuan Generals’ Park.

The exhibition content in the memorial hall is divided into five sections: “Born a Farming Family’s Scholar, Pioneer,” “Joined Whampoa and Fought in the Northern Expedition as a Dashing General,” “Went to Shanghai with Revolution in Heart,” “Created the First Army and Drew Sword in the Dabie Mountains,” and “Fought Against Encirclement, Galloped Through Hubei, Henan, and Anhui.” These comprehensively showcase Xu Jishen’s short yet brilliant life. The memorial hall was completed in August 2011, with a construction area of 1,300 square meters and an exhibition area of 1,600 square meters. The statue of Xu Jishen is a white marble bust and represents the final work of the renowned sculptor Liu Kaiqu. The Xu Jishen Memorial Park receives approximately 200,000 visitors annually and serves as an important site for Party members, cadres, and young students to honor martyrs and receive Party spirit education.

Recommended route: Enter from Muzitan Road in the urban area, pass through Chengnan Town, continue on to Tumen Store in Qingshan Township.

Xu Jishen (1901–1931), courtesy name Jinsheng, originally named Xu Shaozhou, courtesy name Danru, was a native of Lu’an County. In his childhood, he attended a private school. In the ninth year of the Republic of China (1920), he was admitted to the Civil Engineering Department of the First Provincial Advanced Industrial School of Anhui Province in Anqing, and transferred to the First Provincial Normal School the following year. At that time, under the influence of the May Fourth Movement, Anqing saw the emergence of a number of progressive publications promoting Marxism-Leninism as well as ideas of science and democracy, such as the Anqing Review, Anhui Provincial Student Union Weekly, and New Anhui.
