Dahuashan Scenic Area

Dahuashan Scenic Area is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

Dahuashan Provincial Scenic Area is located 56 kilometers south of Lu'an City. The scenic area features thousands of acres of bamboo forests, ancient mineral springs, and several ancient maple trees over 70 meters tall. It combines natural landscapes with Buddhist sanctuaries and is hailed as the "Jiuhua Mountain of the North."

Dahuashan Yunfeng Temple was first built during the Tang Dynasty. Legend has it that in the fourth year of the Yonghui era (653 AD), Prince Kim Qiao Jue of the ancient Silla Kingdom (now South Korea) crossed the sea to China to study scriptures and practice Buddhism. He initially chose Fan Mountain in Lu'an (now Xiaohuashan) as his sanctuary, but due to the ground sinking while he was meditating, he built a temple on Dahuashan, naming it Yunfeng Temple. The temple was rebuilt in 1993, with the plaque inscribed “Dahuashan Yunfeng Temple” by Zhao Puchu. During the temple fairs held on the 19th day of the second, sixth, and ninth lunar months each year, pilgrims from Anhui, Henan, Jiangsu, and Hubei exceed ten thousand.
