Yucai Middle School in Dongli District, Tianjin, serves as a science education base and a national defense education base.

Established in 1998, Yucai Middle School in Dongli District, Tianjin, covers an area of 840 acres with a construction area of nearly 35,000 square meters, and is a national-level science education base. After more than ten years of development, it has evolved into a large-scale comprehensive social practice base that can accommodate 3,600 students and 150 teachers simultaneously for integrated programs including military training, industrial work experience, agricultural learning, national defense education, drug prevention education, civil air defense education, and outdoor expansion training.

The base is mainly divided into over ten educational, learning, and living areas, including the exhibition hall education zone, military theory teaching zone, agricultural ecological park, industrial park, and living quarters.

The National Defense Science and Technology Exhibition Hall spans 520 square meters and is equipped with high-tech "stereoscopic holography" devices, creating lifelike scenarios that give students an immersive experience. The Civil Air Defense Science and Technology Exhibition Hall, invested and built by the Municipal Civil Air Defense Office, consists of two floors divided into a picture exhibition area and an experience area, making full use of modern technology to showcase disaster prevention and mitigation knowledge as well as preventive measures. The Drug Prevention Education Exhibition Hall uses high-tech methods such as sound, light, and electricity to visually demonstrate the harm of drugs, helping visitors truly understand their dangers and commit to staying away from them for life. All three exhibition halls are open to the public year-round, featuring over 8,000 photos, more than 400 physical models, 1.2 million words of electronic books, and thousands of video materials, providing education on national defense science, civil air defense technology, and drug awareness. The base updates all exhibition boards and items in the halls once per academic year.

The Agricultural Science and Technology Park covers an area of 600 acres, featuring crop planting zones and breeding areas, allowing students to learn basic knowledge about planting and animal husbandry. The Industrial Science and Technology Park houses seven specialized classrooms equipped with over ten sets of professional equipment, enabling students to perform basic operations such as crafting and cutting, thereby understanding fundamental processes of industrial production.

In recent years, the school has hosted more than 100 schools, including over a dozen key primary and secondary schools in Tianjin such as Yaohua Middle School, Nankai Middle School, Xinhua Middle School, and Experimental Primary School, as well as several vocational colleges and universities such as Tianjin Metallurgical Vocational College and Bohai Vocational Technical College. Over 500,000 students at all levels have received science education here, achieving excellent results.
