Ciyun Cave

Ciyun Cave is a provincial-level scenic area, located 5.5 kilometers from Shitai County and adjacent to the Huangyan Waterfall Cluster. It gets its name from “Ciyun Mountain” and “Ciyun Temple.” The cave stretches over 3,500 meters in total, with more than 1,500 meters currently open to visitors. An underground river winds its way out of the cave, accompanied by the gentle sound of flowing water and shimmering ripples. The cave features a concentrated array of formations, with numerous stalactites, where the scenery and water blend seamlessly, offering stunning views at every turn—exquisite and graceful. There are a total of 14 attractions in the cave, including Toad Gazing at the Moon, Winding Path into Seclusion, Meteor Piercing the Clouds, Milky Way Descending from the Sky, Snow Embracing Jade Gate, Pure Land Thatched Hut, Lotus Pond Lantern Release, Upside-down Stone Forest, Seven-tone Echoing Rock, Flowers Blooming in Rock Cracks, Three-colored Qilin, Warm Spring in Guanghan, and Scripture Recital Hall. The most intriguing attraction, “Seven-tone Echoing Rock,” consists of several hanging white stalactites of varying sizes, thicknesses, and densities, arranged in an artful pattern resembling a grand organ. When lightly tapped by visitors, they produce delightful “music”—a truly unique spectacle.
