Huangyan Grand Canyon

Huangyan Grand Canyon is a national AA-level tourist attraction.

Huangyan Canyon is located 5.5 kilometers from the county town and is adjacent to the provincial-level scenic spot Ciyun Cave. Major attractions include Ciyun Pool, Love Valley, Thousand Stone Beach, Layered Spring, Wish-Granting Waterfall, Azure Dragon Pool, Water Curtain Flying Snow, and Huangyan Waterfall. The most captivating is the Huangyan Mountain Canyon, stretching nearly 10 li in length, winding and twisting through a mystical and serene landscape, and home to more than 30 waterfalls of varying heights. The most spectacular is the Huangyan Waterfall, which plunges over 70 meters with a width of over 20 meters, resembling a massive white jade ribbon cascading down sheer cliffs into a emerald pool below, sending up bursts of white mist. Its majestic presence is truly breathtaking. The Huangyan Canyon and its surrounding areas boast exceptional ecological conditions. In addition to peaks such as Immortal Peak, Guanyin Peak, and Fir Peak, all exceeding 1,000 meters in elevation, the region preserves over 20,000 acres of dense, pristine natural forest. With steep mountains, lush woods, and clear streams meandering through, the natural scenery here is extraordinarily beautiful. Renowned scenic experts, including Professor Xie Ninggao, Director of the World Heritage Research Center at Peking University, and Professor Yang Jingchun, an urban environment specialist at Peking University, visited the Huangyan Canyon area and praised it as having "a beautiful environment and stunning scenery."
