Chongde Hall Stage

The Chongde Hall Stage is a cultural relic protection unit of Anhui Province.

The Chongde Hall Stage is located in Xucun Village, Aitian Township, Shitai County.

Built in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties, it is a wooden structure. The stage is 14.30 meters wide, 6.70 meters deep, 1.90 meters high, and the distance from the stage surface to the ceiling caisson is 3.96 meters. On both sides of the stage are the “Exit for Generals, Entrance for Civil Officials” gates and side entrances, divided into upper and lower levels — the upper level is used for makeup, while the lower level stores costumes and props, etc. The stage is topped with a ceiling caisson, surrounded by decorative patterns of chrysanthemums. According to research, the Ming and Qing periods saw the prevalence of Mulian opera in the Keti area, making this stage of great value for the study of local theatrical history.
