Nanpu Park is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

Nanpu Park – bordered by Puhuagui Road to the north, Nankou Road to the east, a railway line to the west, and Gubei Road to the south. Covering an area of 30,000 square meters, the park’s design draws inspiration from the style of classical gardens in southern China while integrating northern landscaping techniques and concepts. With pavilions, waterside structures, rockeries, cascading water features, winding paths, and lotus ponds, it creates an elegant, refined, and exquisitely beautiful landscape reminiscent of traditional southern Chinese gardens. The park predominantly features hip-and-gable roof architecture, and the largest structure within it is tentatively named “Sidak Zhai” (originally a renowned library building in Tianjin, located in Hebei District), which will serve as an exhibition hall showcasing historical exhibitions themed around the historical ties between Tianjin and Anhui. As an open public park, Nanpu Park also takes full account of the recreational needs of nearby residents. Facilities such as fitness equipment and small squares have been placed in appropriate locations to encourage leisure activities. The plantings are dominated by cherry blossom trees, accounting for about 70% of the greenery, complemented by various shrubs, flowers, and foliage plants of different colors, shapes, and textures. This layered, diverse, and three-dimensional greenery achieves the effect of “flowers in three seasons and evergreen throughout the year.”

“A delicate, multifunctional space will be built in the park, tentatively named ‘Sidak Zhai’ (originally a renowned library building in Tianjin, located in Hebei District). This building will not only meet the daily property management and office needs of the park but will also function as an exhibition hall and a leisure reading café. The exhibition hall will host long-term displays on the application of environmental technology and environmental knowledge education,” said Li Yunfei, the chief designer of the Nanpu Park project, in an interview with reporters. The overall design of the park is based on a modern aesthetic while incorporating the profound artistic essence of traditional Chinese garden design. Drawing inspiration from the style of classical gardens in southern China and integrating northern landscaping techniques and concepts, the design harmoniously combines architecture, plants, rocks, water, and music to create a serene “urban paradise” away from the hustle and bustle.

Nanpu Park is adjacent to Baimiao Industrial Zone. Fitness equipment, small squares, and other amenities are installed at suitable locations within the park. New facilities such as table tennis rooms, badminton courts, and race-walking tracks have also been added. The total green space area of the first and second phases of Nanpu Park and the surrounding school areas reaches 30,000 square meters.

The classical Jiangnan-style scenery of Nanpu Park has become a popular leisure destination for local residents. As a street-side, open public park designed in the style of a southern Chinese garden, it features rockeries, waterfalls, small bridges over flowing streams, corridors, and pavilions, making it an ideal spot for leisure.

The planning and design philosophy of Nanpu Park draws on the techniques of classical Jiangnan-style gardens, using antique-style architecture, rockeries, water features, and vegetation as core elements. Pavilions, terraces, waterside pavilions, and corridors divide the water surfaces, while reflections of rocks, trees, and flowers on the water add poetic charm, creating a naturally beautiful landscape that feels both man-made and divinely inspired.
