Former Residence of Yang Baoling

Yang Baoling (1886–1966) was a native of Jinshan, Jiangsu. In 1907, he went to the United States to study civil engineering at Cornell University. In 1918, he served as the head of the Flow Measurement Division at the Shun-Zhi Water Conservancy Commission. After 1928, he settled in the Italian Concession of Tianjin, where he operated the Dachang Industrial Company and served as an advisory member on the Chinese Council of the Italian Concession Board. In 1936, he became the Director of the Tianjin Municipal Works Bureau, and after the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, he served as the Head of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Tianjin Municipal Government. He was a well-known social figure who had extensive connections with Tianjin's high-ranking officials and dignitaries.
