Yan Tuo Park is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

Tianjin’s Yan Tuo Park is bordered by Yuguang Road to the north, Tiedong Road to the east, the existing railway line to the west, and the auxiliary road of the rapid ZhiCheng Road to the south, covering an area of 280,000 square meters. In accordance with the unified deployment of the municipal government, the Hebei District has carried out high-standard comprehensive management of the spaces under 14 urban bridges—including ZhiCheng Bridge and Minquanmen Bridge—according to the principle of “one bridge, one landscape, tailored to each bridge.” This project serves as a representative example of such comprehensive under-bridge space management.

The park features three highlights: First, it emphasizes cultural themes. By integrating the concept of “Cultural Hebei,” the park centers on the “salt culture” that formed during the city’s development through its salt industry history. Salt culture reliefs are installed on the surfaces of original bridge pillars, and a delicate, miniature Chinese garden landscape is created in the under-bridge area. These elements blend regional cultural values and characteristics, using garden architecture to continue the legacy of cultural heritage. Second, it constructs an expansive urban green landscape. A continuous system of shaded pathways has been developed. Along the south-to-north central axis, a slow traffic greenway system themed “admire salt and flowers, stroll and relax in the green shade” has been formed, with ecologically themed areas of various kinds categorized accordingly. The total green space exceeds 200,000 square meters. The park has planted 7,500 trees and 11,000 shrubs. Third, it supports harmonious community life. Reflecting a people-oriented and service-focused philosophy, the park offers recreational areas for visitors through multiple pathways, stone plazas, tree-lined plazas, distinctive benches, as well as a book bar, pergolas, and scenic pavilions. Facilities such as a gateball court, circular running track, and children’s activity area cater to the needs of different age groups.
