Huaining County Museum

The new building of Huaining County Museum was completed and opened to the public free of charge in 2018. The main structure covers a construction area of 4,792 square meters across three floors, with an exhibition area of over 2,000 square meters. The permanent exhibitions are divided into four sections: the "Huaining Historical Civilization Exhibition," the "Sunjiacheng Site Special Exhibition," the Interactive Experience Hall, and the Temporary Exhibition Hall. The museum houses a collection of 1,400 cultural relics (sets), including 9 first-grade relics, 21 second-grade relics, and 385 third-grade relics (sets). In 1990, a pottery hu (ritual wine vessel) with a human figure holding a hu tablet from the Northern Song Dynasty in the collection participated in the "Chinese Cultural Relics Fine Exhibition" at the Asian Games and was featured on the cover of a commemorative card presented by the Chinese government to foreign guests. That same year, the relic was included in the "Chinese Cultural Relics Essence" published by the Cultural Relics Publishing House. A set of bronze ritual vessels from the Yangjiapai site in the collection was exhibited in the "Anhui Provincial Cultural Relics Survey and Treasures Exhibition" in 1986. The museum has published large-format pictorial albums such as "Duxiu Huaining" and books like "Records of Huaining Archaeology," and maintains a website and WeChat public account. It is open to the public free of charge for more than 300 days each year and actively organizes activities to bring exhibitions to local communities. In 2014, it was designated as a municipal-level patriotic education base by the Anqing Municipal People's Government, serving as an important public cultural venue in the county.
