Haihe Jiefang Bridge

Haihe Jiefang Bridge is a key bridge connecting the Hebei, Hedong, and Heping districts, serving as a hub to Tianjin Railway Station area. The bridge was originally named “Wanguo Bridge” (International Bridge), as Tianjin at the time had nine foreign concessions—British, French, Russian, American, German, Japanese, Italian, Austrian, and Belgian—referred to as “countries within a country.” After the liberation of Tianjin in 1949, the bridge was renamed “Jiefang Bridge” (Liberation Bridge), and the name has been retained ever since.

Jiefang Bridge is an all-steel structure built in 1927. If you’re lucky enough to witness the bridge opening, consider yourself fortunate. The most beautiful moment is when luxurious yachts glide through the opened bridge, set against the dazzling lights along the Haihe River, creating a truly enchanting scene.

If you're lucky, you might even catch couples taking wedding photos on the bridge during a red light stop—a novel and fun sight.
