Nancui Ping Park
Nancui Ping Park is located in Nankai District, southwestern part of Tianjin's urban area, at the intersection of Hongqi South Road and Binxing West Avenue. It is the most distinctive natural landscape park in the city center. Covering an area of 335,000 square meters, the park includes a mountain area spanning 121,000 square meters and surrounding water bodies of about 85,000 square meters, with the main peak of the piled mountain reaching 52 meters high. The mountain landscape is entirely built using construction waste, transforming waste into treasure and highlighting its eco-friendly function.
Following the overall concept of “natural ecology and landscape gardening,” the park is divided into six scenic areas—three inside and three outside the looped mountain waterway—based on the surrounding water system. The inner mountain area within the looped mountain path is divided into three zones: Cuiping Lanshuicui (Green Screen Overlooking Greenery), Manwu Huaxi (Dancing Flowers Along the Stream), and Qiancao Manbu (Strolling on Shallow Grass). The outer area consists of Jinghu Yingcui (Tranquil Lake Reflecting Greenery), Bijia Shixiang (Picking Fragrance from Lotus), and Qushui Xiaoyue (Winding Stream at Dawn). In the Cuiping Lanshuicui zone, a main viewing pavilion is built atop the mountain, offering panoramic views of the park’s mountain, water features, surrounding green spaces, and the urban landscape. The Manwu Huaxi zone is located on the southern side of the mountain, where a stream meanders down from the hilltop, allowing visitors to walk along the stream and enjoy a rare natural landscape within the city where mountain and water blend seamlessly.
The Qiancao Manbu zone is situated on the northeastern side of the mountain, featuring a grassy field of over 5,000 square meters that gently slopes down the mountainside like a clear stream flowing slowly downhill. At the end of the grassland, there is a small pine forest, while the right slope of the grassland is adorned with evergreen plants complemented by golden and purplish-red flowering and branch-viewing plants. The three outer scenic areas—Jinghu Yingcui, Bijia Shixiang, and Qushui Xiaoyue—are centered around the looped mountain waterway. Jinghu Yingcui is located in the northeastern part of the park, where a broad lake surface reflects the lush green mountain, creating a breathtaking view. Bijia Shixiang is in the southeastern part, with water bodies mainly planted with lotus flowers and accompanied by walking boardwalks. Qushui Xiaoyue focuses on the looped mountain waterway, enhanced with various aquatic plants for a wild, natural ambiance. At the southern lakeside foot of the mountain, three complexes totaling 6,000 square meters of comprehensive service areas are built to provide leisure services for visitors. Mountain hiking trails are also constructed for visitors to hike, sightsee, and engage in fitness activities.
