The Memorial Room of Martyr Li Dazhao was established in 1989 on the centenary of his birth. It is located on the third floor of the library at the North Campus of Tianjin Public Security Police Vocational College, west of the scenic Water Park in Nankai District, covering a construction area of 350 square meters. In front of the building stands a full-body statue of the young Li Dazhao holding a book and gazing into the distance. The exhibition space is divided into two rooms and one hall: the Life and Deeds Room, the Memorial Room, and the Video Hall. The Life and Deeds Room mainly features photographs along with a few artifacts, highlighting Li Dazhao’s revolutionary activities during his time in Tianjin. The Memorial Room displays images reflecting commemorations of the martyr across the country. The Video Hall screens TV and video programs about Li Dazhao produced over the years. The exhibition content is primarily divided into eight parts: Li Dazhao’s youth and school years, China’s earliest Marxist, a key leader of the May Fourth Movement, a main founder of the Communist Party of China, a leader of the northern workers' movement, a promoter of the revolutionary united front, a steadfast revolutionary who faced execution with composure, and one who lives forever in people's hearts.

In 1907 (the 33rd year of the Guangxu reign in the Qing Dynasty), 18-year-old Li Dazhao, facing the crisis of the nation, applied to the newly established Beiyang Law and Politics College with the aspiration of “urgently studying political theories to find solutions to save the nation and revive the people.” He was admitted as a student in the first intake of the Special Preparatory Course. During his six years at the college, he organized the Law and Politics Society, founded and served as chief editor of the monthly magazine *Yanzhi*, where he published many articles criticizing social injustices and corrupt officials. During the May Fourth Movement, Li Dazhao enthusiastically promoted Marxist theory in Tianjin through various means, influencing a generation of intellectuals. Under his guidance, Zhou Enlai, Liu Qingyang, Ma Jun, and Deng Yingchao successively established the Awakening Society, Communist groups, and the Marxist Research Association in Tianjin. Li Dazhao personally directed the workers' movement in Tianjin, laying a solid ideological and class foundation for the official establishment of the Party and the League in the city. Sites such as the Guangdong Guild Hall, the Governor’s Office, Wesley Church, the National Hotel, and Nankai Middle School all bear witness to his revolutionary activities.

In February 1989, the municipal Party committee and government agreed that the Tianjin College of Political Science and Law Management Cadres (now the Public Security Police Vocational College) would serve as the continuation of Li Dazhao’s alma mater, and later approved the establishment of the Memorial Room of Martyr Li Dazhao at the college. The veteran proletarian revolutionary Peng Zhen personally inscribed the room’s name. On the eve of July 1, 1991, the memorial room officially opened to the public and has since received 40,000 visitors. In 1994, it was designated as a Tianjin Patriotic Education Base by the municipal Party committee and government.
