Situated at the western edge of Yaotou Mountain Gully Scenic Area, bordering Lin'an District. At 1,095 meters above sea level, Yaotou Mountain is the main peak at the eastern end of the Tianmu Mountain Range and the highest peak in the urban area of Hangzhou. After traversing Yaotou Mountain, the mountain range diverges into two spurs within the county—north and south—that gradually slope downward. The northern spur passes through Luniu, Baizhang, Huanghu, Penggong, Beihu, and Anxi before extending into the plain, while the southern spur goes through Shuangxi, Changle, and Zhouzhen, also reaching the plain. The mountain is home to the nationally protected second-tier tree species Eucommia, the third-tier protected species Taxus chinensis (Chinese yew), as well as Magnolia officinalis. There are nine waterfalls in a waterfall cluster within the mountain. The vegetation is dominated by moso bamboo, with forest coverage exceeding 95%. Below 800–900 meters in elevation, there are leaves of Indocalamus tessellatus and moso bamboo, but above 900 meters only grass grows, making tree growth impossible. At 400 meters above sea level, there once stood the Dalusi Temple, now in ruins, leaving behind only an ancient iron bell, two ancient fir trees, and one ancient tea tree.

Shangougu Village: Shangougu Village is located in the northwest of Yuhang District, bordering Lin'an to the south and Anji to the west, about a one-hour drive from Hangzhou. The village administers eight natural villages, covering a total area of 15.3 square kilometers, with 36 villager groups and a population of 2,267. It boasts a forest coverage rate of 95% and excellent ecological preservation. The China Man and Biosphere Reserve and Shangougu National Forest Park are both situated in the village.
