The Yao Toutou Mountain Boulder Cluster is situated on the mountainside of Yao Toutou Mountain within the Shan Gou Gou Scenic Area. There is a mountain road that allows vehicles to drive up partway, but there is no clearly visible path from the main road leading directly to the boulder cluster. The boulders are piled up halfway up the mountain, forming a rocky ridge that stands out amid a sea of bamboo groves. The formation stretches approximately 60–80 meters in length and about 20 meters in width, with an average height of over 10 meters above the ground. The boulders are shaped like whale heads, immortal peaches, or form patterns such as the Chinese character for "品" (pin, meaning “quality”) or chess pieces. Wandering among these rocks is like navigating a maze. These boulders were formed through the weathering of granite along horizontal and vertical fissures. Climbing onto the large rocks offers an expansive view, allowing you to take in the surrounding lush bamboo sea spanning miles, as well as overlook nearby villages and towns such as Taiping, Baizhang, Shuangxi, Panban, and Luniu.

Shan Gou Gou Village: Located in the northwest of Yuhang District, Shan Gou Gou Village borders Lin’an to the south and Anji to the west, and is about a one-hour drive from Hangzhou. The village administers 8 natural villages, covers a total area of 15.3 square kilometers, has 36 villager groups, and a population of 2,267. With a forest coverage rate of 95%, it boasts excellent ecological preservation. The China Man and Biosphere Reserve and the Shan Gou Gou National Forest Park are both situated in the village.
