Mao Tang Ancient Private School is a municipal-level cultural heritage site of Hangzhou.

Mao Tang Ancient Private School is located within the Mao Tang Scenic Area in Shangouguo Village, Luniu Town. It dates back to the Qing Dynasty and is classified as an ancient architectural structure.

In 2009, Mao Tang Ancient Private School was designated as a municipal-level cultural heritage site of Hangzhou.

Protected area: shares the same protected zone as the former site of the New Fourth Army Mobile Clothing Factory. To the east, it extends approximately 9–30 meters beyond the heritage structure; to the south, approximately 25 meters; to the west, approximately 5 meters; and to the north, approximately 7 meters. The total protected area spans 1,786 square meters.

Construction control zone: shares the same construction control zone as the former site of the New Fourth Army Mobile Clothing Factory. To the east, it follows the extended exterior wall line of nearby buildings approximately 40 meters beyond the protected area; to the south, approximately 50 meters; to the west, the exterior wall line of a one-story building about 10 meters beyond the protected area; to the north, approximately 50 meters. The total controlled zone area is 10,952 square meters.

Shangouguo Village: Shangouguo Village is located in the northwest of Yuhang District, bordering Lin’an to the south and Anji to the west, approximately one hour’s drive from Hangzhou. The village administers eight natural villages, covers a total area of 15.3 square kilometers, includes 36 villager groups, and has a population of 2,267. With a forest coverage rate of 95%, the ecological environment here is well preserved. The China Man and Biosphere Reserve and Shangouguo National Forest Park are both situated in the village.
