Ruins of the Mother-Mourning Pavilion

The ruins of the Mother-Mourning Pavilion are a municipal-level cultural heritage site protected by Hangzhou City.

The ruins of the Mother-Mourning Pavilion are located on the west side of Wuchang Port in Phase III of the Xixi National Wetland Park, Wuchang Subdistrict. Dating back to the Ming Dynasty, it is classified as an ancient ruin.

In 2009, the ruins of the Mother-Mourning Pavilion were designated as a municipal-level cultural heritage site protected by Hangzhou City.

Protected area: approximately 10 meters beyond the physical remains of the site, covering a total area of 1,229 square meters.

Construction control zone: to the east up to the western boundary of the road, to the south up to the fishpond boundary and approximately 20 meters beyond the protected area, to the west and north up to approximately 20 meters beyond the protected area, covering a total area of 3,855 square meters.

Wuchang Subdistrict: Wuchang Subdistrict is only 13 kilometers from downtown Hangzhou and is known as the “frontier of urban development in the west.” It serves as the western gateway to Hangzhou and is the core area of the Yuhang Cluster (Innovation Base). To the east lies the Xixi National Wetland Park, to the south the Xiaoheshan Higher Education Zone, to the west the Hemu Water Town, and to the north the Sandun area and Zhejiang University’s Zijingang Campus. The overall terrain is higher in the south and lower in the north, with three sides bordering the main urban area, giving the 24.88-square-kilometer area of Wuchang especially advantageous positioning.
