Due to the long distance and time involved, it's essential to plan your route in advance. Here are your options: 1. From south to north: Take bus K4, 308, 504, You 5, or Holiday 5 to the “Nine Creeks” station by the Qiantang River. From JiuXi YanShu Park, head towards Longjing or Manlong Guiyu; 2. From north to south: That is, from the Longjing station on bus 27, pass through JiuXi YanShu Park to the “Nine Creeks” station or Manlong Guiyu; 3. From northeast to southwest: From Manlong Guiyu via Yangmei Ridge, or from the zoo via the back of Hupao to JiuXi YanShu Park.

Highlights: Visiting Nine Creeks and Eighteen Gullies is best during the high-water season (April to October). Otherwise, you won’t see the waterfalls, and the streams will be quite small. It’s a serene mountain valley scenic area themed around “creek water,” nestled among mountains and trees, located south of Longjing, more than 10 kilometers from West Lake. It originates from Yangjiawu in Yangmei Ridge, where nine mountain valley streams — Qingwan, Fangjia, Baizhang, Tangjia, Foshi, Yunqi, Zhutou, Xiaokang — converge in sequence to form the creek, which then flows into the Qiantang River via Xucun. The Eighteen Gullies lie southwest of Yanxia Cave, originating from Longjing Village in Longjing. Winding through wooded hillsides, it gathers several small streams such as Shiyuzhou, Sunwenlong, and Jiguanlong to form the gullies. Hence the name “Nine Creeks and Eighteen Gullies.” Late Qing scholar Yu Yue wrote about his visit: “Nine Creeks and Eighteen Gullies, the finest spot in the mountains. I’d long heard its fame, but only now do I grasp its charm. Layer upon layer of hills, winding and twisting paths. Ding-dong springs, tall and short trees.” Today, you can still find architectural sites such as the Creek-in-Creek Pavilion, Xiting, and Jiuhong Pavilion.
