The Zhejiang Provincial Museum is a patriotic education base.

The Zhejiang Provincial Museum is located at the southern foot of Gushan Hill, in the heart of the West Lake Scenic Area. Established in November 1929, it is a courtyard-style building rich in the local characteristics of Jiangnan garden architecture. In 1993, the expansion project of the museum was completed, adding ten new exhibition halls: the Historical Relics Hall, Celadon Hall, Calligraphy and Painting Hall, Coin Hall, Arts and Crafts Hall, Gift Hall, Lü Xiaguang Art Hall, Chang Shuhong Art Gallery, Ming and Qing Furniture Hall, and the Fine Arts Hall.

The museum complex consists of individual buildings and corridors with distinctive Jiangnan regional features, creating a unique layout of “a museum within a garden and a garden within a museum.” Pavilions and towers are interconnected by winding corridors, nestled among the shimmering lake and surrounding hills. The museum houses over 100,000 cultural relics.

Among them, the pottery, lacquerware, woodware, bone artifacts, and ivory products from the Hemudu Culture, the jade artifacts and silk fabrics from the Liangzhu Culture, the bronze ware from the Yue State, the celadon from kilns such as the Yue Kiln, Longquan Kiln, and Southern Song Official Kiln, the bronze mirrors from Kuaiji and Huzhou, as well as the artworks by Ming and Qing dynasty painters from Zhejiang, are all widely renowned treasures.

Transportation: Location: No. 25 Gushan Road, Hangzhou. Take Bus 850: Wushan Bus Stop – Jiebai Store – Children’s Palace – Geling – Xinxin Hotel – Xiling Bridge – Zhejiang Provincial Museum. Take Bus 7: Railway Station – Guanxiangkou – Hubin – Children’s Palace – Broken Bridge (walk to the museum).

Transportation: Take Tourist Bus Routes 1, 2, or 3 to the "Broken Bridge" stop and walk to the museum, or take a West Lake cruise boat and disembark at Zhongshan Park.
