Santai Pavilion

Santai Pavilion is a cultural tourism attraction.

Located atop the picturesque Santai Mountain, it is a great spot for visitors to enjoy a panoramic view. From the pavilion, one can gaze over rolling green hills and mirror-like blue lakes, with a sweeping view of the entire western part of the lake. Santai Pavilion first appeared in the panorama of West Lake painted by Zhou Long during the Ming Dynasty, and was even more distinctly depicted in the “Complete Pictorial of Famous Mountains and Scenic Spots under Heaven,” published in the Chongzhen era of the Ming Dynasty, in its “Full View of West Lake.” Over time, the original pavilion no longer exists. It was rebuilt in 2004, and the restored Santai Pavilion covers a construction area of 266 square meters, stands 19.5 meters high, and is an octagonal two-story pavilion with double eaves. In addition, the mountain hiking trail leading up to it has been renovated. In the future, this trail will also be connected to the China National Tea Museum in Longhongjian, the Waijilong Longjing Tea Village, and Nangao Peak, making this site a key node within the western lake scenic area where visitors can “hike the mountain while admiring the lake, or cruise the lake while enjoying the mountain views.” Transportation:

Santai Mountain Community: Established in March 2001, Santai Mountain Community is located within the West Lake Scenic Area. The community spans a total area of 8 square kilometers and covers five villages: Weng, Long, Man, Yang, and Shuangfeng.
