Prince Bay Park

Introduction: Legend has it that this area was once the temporary tomb site (攒园, pronounced cuan, an ancient term referring to a place where the imperial coffin is temporarily placed, also called a cuan-suo) of two princes from the Southern Song Dynasty, Zhuangwen and Jingxian, hence the name Prince Bay. The park features a visible water channel from the West Lake Water Diversion Project as its main axis, with pools formed by accumulated water, waterfalls created by water diversion, islets encircled by water, and bridges built over the water, forming scenic spots such as Pipa Islet, Jade Garden, Carefree Slope, Egret Pool, Yile Garden, and Taiji Terrace. These spaces are thoughtfully designed with a pleasing rhythm of openness and enclosure, offering fresh and delightful views. The park is home to thousands of Tokyo cherry trees from Japan, which bloom brilliantly around mid-March, creating a spectacular pink spectacle. It has since become a renowned destination for wedding photography and tulip exhibitions.

Transportation: Take Tourist Bus Routes 1, 2, 3, or 5 and get off at “Huagang” Station.
