Guide: Mr. Jin Yong’s Hangzhou villa is located near Hongchun Bridge, just a few dozen meters behind the Imperial Stele Pavilion of “Twin Peaks Piercing the Clouds,” at the starting point of the “Nine Li Cloud Pines.” It is nestled within a pine forest. Covering nearly five acres, it was completed in 1996 and designed by the Hangzhou Landscape Architecture Design Institute according to Mr. Jin Yong’s wishes. Highlights: The layout of the book house draws on the best of Jiangnan-style gardens while also being modeled after the “Plum Garden” from Jin Yong’s wuxia novel The Smiling, Proud Wanderer. Clouds hide the nine-li West Lake path, clouded pines blend with tender mulberry. Hidden sword shadows, veiled knife glows — step inside to the scent of books. Introduction: The overall design is simple and elegant. Right inside the gate, in front of the screen wall, stands a large potted plant arrangement of the “Three Friends of Winter.” The main building is a southern-style courtyard home, with an interior design that blends both Eastern and Western elements. The side courtyard is filled with pines and bamboos, and the garden features a Pine-Listening Pavilion atop a stacked mountain. The pavilion is entirely constructed of pine wood, even the roof tiles are made of pine, giving it a classic and refined appearance. The entire villa cost 12 million yuan to build. Shortly after its completion, Mr. Jin Yong donated it to the Hangzhou municipal government, and it is now open as a group tour site.

Transportation: You can take Tourist Bus Routes 1, 2, or 4 and get off at Jiulisi Station; alternatively, you can take Bus Routes 7, 27, 807, Y3, or Y6 and get off at Hongchun Bridge (diagonally opposite Zhejiang Hospital).
