Huanglong Cave is nestled in the lush bamboo forests at the northern foot of Qixia Ridge on the scenic northern side of West Lake. The park boasts an intricate layout with intertwined pavilions, winding corridors, rockeries, and lush pines and bamboos. A highlight is the "Yellow Dragon Spouting Water" rock formation, where water flows year-round into a pool below. The park is extensively planted with rare and precious varieties of bamboo, creating a vibrant bamboo landscape that has earned it the title of "Yellow Dragon Spouting Green."

Huanglong Cave YuanYuan Folk Custom Park covers an area of 5.8 hectares. Its landscaping artfully integrates streams, caves, pavilions, rockeries, and other elements to create an elegant scene of ancient trees and verdant bamboo. The park cultivates over ten rare species of bamboo, including square bamboo, purple bamboo, and qinshi bamboo, making it a prime destination for bamboo appreciation.

After being converted into a folk custom park, Huanglong Cave has become one of the primary venues for traditional weddings among Hangzhou residents. Visitors can ride in flower-decorated bridal sedan chairs, worship the God of Love (Yue Lao), and lock “eternal love” padlocks in various colors and designs. The park offers a wide range of entertainment options, as well as opportunities to enjoy opera performances and tea tasting, creating a delightful and festive atmosphere.

Building upon its natural scenery, the park emphasizes a cultural theme centered around “Yuan” (fate/destiny), and has developed a series of distinctive cultural tourism experiences such as “Fateful Encounters,” “Inquiry of Fate,” “Xiyuan Garden,” and “YuanYuan.” The park’s grand opera stage features performances by talented young actors from the Huanglong Yue Opera Troupe, including winners of the Plum Blossom Award for Drama and the “New Ten Sisters of Yue Opera,” who are beloved by both domestic and international visitors. The Huanglong New Music House presents performances of Jiangnan sizhu (traditional string and wind music) blended with folk songs and dances, showcasing the region’s picturesque landscapes and simple, charming folk customs.

Another highlight of the folk custom park is the integration of classic Yue Opera and Jiangnan sizhu musical performances with the rich artistic charm of southern China’s rivers and mountains. With a strong cast of performers, the park serves as an important platform for promoting traditional Chinese culture.
