Lingshan Fantasy Land

Lingshan Cave, also known as "Lingshan Fantasy Land," is located in Xihu District, Hangzhou, 19 kilometers from the city center. It was originally part of the famous "Ten Scenic Spots of Hupu" and lies about 15 kilometers from downtown. This site was historically known as the Yunquan Mountain Cave, where cliff walls still preserve the seal script inscription "Yunquan Lingdong" (Cloud Spring Spiritual Cave) by Zu Wuzhe, the prefect of Hangzhou, dating back to the second year of the Xining era (1069) during the Song Dynasty. Poets and literary figures from the Tang and Song dynasties, such as Bai Juyi, Fan Zhongyan, Su Dongpo, and Zhu Xi, frequently visited this place, leaving behind historical traces.

Lingshan Fantasy Land is a renowned karst cave attraction on the outskirts of Hangzhou. It earned its name due to the dazzling and ever-changing beauty of the Lingshan Cave scenery. This scenic spot combines mountains, water, mist, and waterfalls into one spectacular destination. The cave walls bear an inscription dating back to the "sixth year of the Daming era," which is over 1,500 years ago. Rediscovered during a geographical survey in 1982, the cave was subsequently reopened to the public. Unlike other caves, Lingshan is a vertical-shaft type, with a height difference of 109 meters between its upper and lower sections. It is divided into two main cave chambers, covering a total area of 4,650 square meters, connected by a 50-meter-long stone staircase.

The cave is divided into five levels, featuring halls named Qilin Welcoming Guests (Unicorn Greets Visitors), Underwater Fantasy, Race to Kunlun, Heavenly Pillar Hall, and Grand Cloud Basin. The stalactites display a stunning variety of shapes—resembling flowers, fruits, birds, beasts, immortals lying in repose, and tigers and rabbits darting about, all incredibly lifelike. Highlights include the majestic scenes of "Silken Brocade," "Imperial Palace Opened," and "Jade Lotus Waterfall." "Lingshan Fantasy" is famed for its grandeur, towering heights, and extraordinary beauty, blending elements of landscape, mist, and waterfall into one unforgettable experience.
