The Premier Zhou Enlai Memorial Room was renovated with a donation of 400,000 yuan from villagers and various organizations in the West Lake District, based on the original reception room used by Premier Zhou. Starting from 1957, Premier Zhou visited Meijiawu five times, using it as a contact point to guide rural development nationwide, and showed great care and provided guidance for the production and construction in Meijiawu. The contact point is located in the center of Meijiawu Village. It was originally the brigade reception room, a two-story wooden structure with a floor area of 240 square meters. The building is a residential house dating back to the late Qing Dynasty and early Republican period, featuring the architectural style of a small Jiangnan-style courtyard. It faces east and covers a site area of 1,500 square meters. In 2003, the exhibition hall displays and decorations were further upgraded and refined. The first-floor exhibition space showcases a series of activities that Zhou Enlai carried out in Meijiawu, while the second floor serves as a reception room. There is also an auxiliary exhibition area displaying visits by other national leaders and distinguished guests from around the world to Meijiawu. The new exhibition space combines classical and modern decorative styles and appropriately incorporates modern technology, resulting in significant improvements in visual effects and overall atmosphere compared to the past.
