Shangri-La Holiday Manor is situated on the southern bank of the world’s longest cross-sea bridge — the Hangzhou Bay Bridge — in Henghe Town, Cixi City, known as China’s “hometown of bayberries.” Spanning 1,200 acres, it boasts lush green hills and lakes, a vibrant world filled with naturally grown fruits, and quaint countryside cottages that create a utopian atmosphere. In 2010, it was awarded the honorary title of “Top Ten Model Demonstration Bases of Rural Cooperatives in China” by the National Ministry of Agriculture. This is the birthplace of China’s “bayberry” culture and also bears the historical footprints of Emperor Qianlong during his southern inspection tours. The manor pioneered China’s first American-style West Point Military Academy expansion training camp and a Bayberry Culture Museum, along with Ningbo region’s only zip line and off-road vehicle sports base. It is an integrated destination that combines health and leisure, sports experiences, creative spaces, multi-dimensional training, and a residential paradise — making it the country’s first rural tourism “CEO” wellness and holiday retreat.

The manor is divided into five zones: the specialty planting area, wellness zone, leisure zone, fitness and sports zone, and comprehensive service area. Among these, the specialty planting area includes a forest zone featuring successfully trialed global peony flower varieties and over 200 species of trees and flowers such as ginkgo, scholar trees, golden willows, and five-needle pines. The vegetable zone mainly grows various health-promoting vegetables, all naturally grown and pollution-free. Fruit trees include over ten varieties such as bayberry, cherry, plum, apricot, pear, peach, persimmon, etc. Additionally, the planting area intercrops crops like soybeans, peanuts, and sweet potatoes, along with vast areas of bamboo groves and Longjing tea plantations.

The wellness zone features various farmhouse cottages, forest quadrangle courtyards, bamboo houses, as well as water aquaculture facilities and a large central square and wellness center. The leisure zone includes standard guest rooms, attached vegetable gardens, a youth education base, a small zoo, displays of traditional farming tools, and exhibits of ancient culture. The outdoor fitness and sports area offers a water park, high-altitude expansion activities, a bamboo maze, a CS battlefield, boats, rock climbing, Ningbo region’s first off-road car and motorcycle training camp, and a zip line.
