Hangzhou Bay Water Park

The water park, covering a water area of 5.7 square kilometers, is the largest freshwater reservoir on coastal mudflats in the country. An oval-shaped ring dam, like a jade belt, encircles the full reservoir of clear water. Standing on the dam and looking into the distance, you can witness the spectacular sight of the sea and sky merging into one. At dawn and dusk, when the sun retracts its piercing rays, the entire lake surface is painted in a layer of brownish-red. It often gives people the wonderful feeling of being in a realm of purple mist above the river and crimson haze below the Han dynasty.

All facilities of the water park are located within the reservoir. "Sea in the Sea" is designed based on the legend of Emperor Qin Shi Huang sending Xu Fu to the Three Divine Mountains in search of the elixir of immortality. The embankment here is surrounded by lush green trees, with serene, winding paths of various shapes. Within the island there is a lake, and within the lake there are islands, crisscrossing in an exquisitely unique layout. There are also bamboo cottages on the island where you can fish—just scatter some bait, hold a fishing rod, calm your mind, and enjoy the tranquility. In summer, you can head to the swimming pool, which features activities such as surfing and high-platform water skiing. On the shore, there are pedal boats and couple boats. There’s both a warm, romantic atmosphere and thrilling activities that test your courage and nerve. The Miao and Dong Ethnic Culture Garden is an architecturally distinctive area where you can enjoy song and dance performances by the Miao and Dong ethnic groups.

Hai Zhong Bao is the second island in the lake and is designed to reflect the charm of Venice and ancient Roman architecture. Those mysterious ancient castles showcase exotic styles and the various allurements of ancient Greek mythology. The westernmost small island is called Hai Zhong Zhou, blending ancient maritime culture with modern oceanic flair. Here, you can not only learn about the profound and extensive history of world navigation but also gain a more scientific understanding of the ocean.
