Xiaopenglai in Xincheng Town
Located southeast of Nengren Temple in Xincheng Town, originally named Huanqingfang and also known as Xiaotaoyuan, it was part of the ancient Nengren Temple (built during the Southern Dynasties), serving as a place for monks to meditate and for pilgrims to rest. The garden originally featured ten scenic spots: winding streams with curved railings, small bridges connecting to the fences, misty willows along flat embankments, views from the southern courtyard, endless waves of peach blossoms, green-boated painted galleries, fish-viewing pavilions by the stream, moon-gazing pavilions on lotus platforms, stone-railway ponds, and painted houses amid plum groves. It has now been developed into a park, where an artificial hill called Fengshan lies between two ponds, a relic from Nengren Temple. The park also retains ancient stone tablets, and the ginkgo tree in front of the original mountain gate, planted during the Tang Dynasty, stands 23.5 meters tall with a trunk circumference of 6.4 meters. Its lush, emerald foliage reaches toward the sky, full of vitality.
