Shijiu'yang Wetland
Shijiu'yang Wetland is located at the intersection of Changsheng Road and Dongsheng Road, stretching along both sides of Dongsheng West Road, with two over two-meter-tall stone tablets marking its north and south main entrances.
According to historical records, the water of Shijiu'yang originates from the East Tiaoxi River of the Tianmu Mountains. In 1991, the Jiaxing Municipal People's Government built a water plant here, and the drinking water for 3 million Jiaxing residents comes from Shijiu'yang, known as the pool and water of life. On the second day of the Lunar New Year, with the temperature at 20 degrees, I visited Shijiu'yang Wetland Park. I had never been to Shijiu'yang Wetland Park before, only hearing that it had become a major park in downtown Jiaxing — it’s more than just a pool of life. However, after two hours of exploration, I also noticed some puzzling phenomena. Admittedly, as a park open to the public, it provides Jiaxing residents with a great new place to visit. But as a source of drinking water for the city’s residents, there is certainly much room for improvement in its management.
