Wangdian Pushu Pavilion is located at the southern end of Guangping Road in Wangdian Town, Xiuzhou District, Jiaxing. It is a garden-style architectural complex covering an area of 6,500 square meters. It was the former residence of Zhu Yizun, a renowned scholar of the early Qing Dynasty.

It was first built in the 35th year of the Kangxi reign (1696). Originally named "Zhuchuo," Pushu Pavilion was one of its structures. It became well-known due to Zhu Yizun’s literary collection, the *Collected Works of Pushu Pavilion*, and later the entire site took its name from the pavilion. The garden features a simple and elegant artistic style, with a thoughtfully balanced layout.

The garden gate faces north. Upon entering, the left side is “Yule Xuan” (Pleasure-for-the-Aged Hall), a three-bay hall facing south. To its west is “Yu Fang” (Drinking Boat), surrounded by water on three sides. The lintel inscription was written by Zheng Fu, a calligrapher of the early Qing Dynasty. A few dozen steps away from Yu Fang is “Qiancai Tang” (Hidden Talent Hall). In 1963, during renovation, a stone statue of Zhu Yizun from his family shrine was moved here and embedded into the wall. The original imperial plaque bestowed by Emperor Kangxi, inscribed with “Researching Classics and Vast Knowledge,” was lost when the shrine was destroyed early on. It has since been rewritten by Zhang Zongxiang and hangs in the main hall. The interior houses calligraphy scrolls handwritten by Zhu Yizun, inkstones he used, and paintings depicting the full scenery of the original “Pushu Pavilion.” The pavilions, boat, and hall are built around a lotus pond, featuring whitewashed walls and brick flooring that create a pure, serene elegance.

In the middle of the garden, crossing the stone bridge over the lotus pond to the south leads to Pushu Pavilion. The pavilion faces north, and its two blue stone pillars bear a couplet composed of verses by Du Fu: “One must come early to admire the bamboo; where is the old man who comes to compose poetry?” Originally written by Wang Ji, the couplet was rewritten and engraved in stone during reconstruction by Ruan Yuan. It also includes Ruan Yuan’s and Zhu Yizun’s *Bai Zi Ling* (Hundred-Character Ode), as well as a matching piece by Yi Tang’an, a Manchu poet and then prefect of Jiaxing. To the east of the pavilion is an artificial hill, atop which stands the Liufeng Ting (Six Peaks Pavilion). Below the Six Peaks Pavilion lies a stone-paved pathway several dozen meters long.

In April 1981, it was announced as a Zhejiang Provincial Cultural Relics Protection Unit.
