Jiaxing Pinghu Jiulongshan Coastal Tourist Area (Jiulongshan Tourist Resort)

A provincial-level tourist resort integrating mountains, sea, islands, and beaches. Located on the northern shore of Hangzhou Bay, it is 90 kilometers from both Shanghai and Hangzhou, with the Shanghai-Hangzhou Expressway passing through. The area features a national forest park, a seaside bathing beach, Golden Ocean City Beach Resort, Waipu Mountain Island, and more. In Jiulongshan National Forest Park, up close you’ll see lush pine forests and birds flying freely; in the distance, there are blue waves, open skies, fishing boats dotting the horizon, and vast sea and sky. Dongsha Bay is Zhejiang’s only continental shelf seaside bathing beach, with clean, hard sand historically known as “Iron Plate Sand.” Every peak summer, visitors flock here from Shanghai, Hangzhou, Jiaxing, and Suzhou, with up to 20,000 swimmers received in a single day—earning it the nickname “the Beidaihe of the South.” Nearby are sites such as Nanshan Fort, Tianfei Palace Fort, Hongyi Master Memorial Pavilion, Wentao Pavilion, and Haihong Pavilion, built to commemorate the 200th anniversary of "Dream of the Red Chamber" setting sail from here. It is said that the town of Zhapu where Jiulongshan is located was also the birthplace of Empress Dowager Cixi, with some relics still preserved today.

Transportation: From Shanghai, take the metro to Jinjiang Amusement Park Station, then take the Weimei Line or Shimai Line. It takes just over an hour to reach Shihua. From Shihua, you can take the Zhashi Line, Shiping Line, or any bus heading to Zhapu. Once in Zhapu, take a taxi for about 10 RMB to reach the seaside.
